NC childhood home of comedian/actor Zach Galifianakis sells for $200,000
The childhood home of a famous actor from Wilkesboro sold in 2021 for around $200,000.
Zach Galifianakis, known for his role in the “Hangover,” was raised in the quiet, small town of Wilkesboro. The cozy three-bedroom homebuilt back in the 1950s was bought by a local resident known for renovating old homes
Galifianakis’ parents bought the home when he was around 10 years old. His family moved out of the home in the mid 70s and built a home in the same neighborhood.
The real estate agent who sold the property, Teresa Overcash, is also a Wilkesboro native who went to high school with Galifianakis.
“He was very-well liked and has always been a super kind and funny person,” she said. “Everybody always talked about how funny Zach was, and they loved his dry sense of humor. We in Wilkesboro are super proud of him for becoming so successful and thriving at what he loves to do.”
The buyer did not purchase the home because it was once where Galifianakis lived, Overcash said, but because it had great character and potential.
